Hundreds of companies, large and small, are active in the design, development, manufacturing and deployment of RFID tags, readers, labels, software and integration services. ABI Research has now launched new online research tools to help compare them all.
The RFID market is huge and varied and it can be difficult to conduct a systematic comparison of all the various players and their technologies. ABI Research has now launched its online RFID Industry Database, which details RFID company backgrounds, product and service offerings, regional capabilities, relevant partnerships, customer wins, and the companies' positions relative to competitors, applications and vertical markets.
Online database
While earlier versions of the database were provided in printed form, the latest edition is entirely online, making it searchable far more quickly than before.
"All the company profiles are updated quarterly, in conjunction with our regular RFID Market Update, which describes industry developments in the preceding three months," explained ABI Research analyst Sara Shah. "The rest of the information is refreshed in real time, as our researchers acquire it."
Flexible searches
The service allows users to customise online searches to a precise set of parameters - for example by tag type, reader type, and frequency. Users can also search for companies by application, frequency, standard, vertical market and company focus.
Likewise, the included ABI Vendor Matrices, which assess vendors on the qualities of innovation and implementation, can be sorted by company focus: tag, reader or IC manufacturers, software providers, integrators, label/printer providers, and industrial automation suppliers. The database is available as part of ABI's RFID Research Service subscription, which provides regular updates on the RFID market, as well as research reports, forecast databases, analyst access, and analyst insights.
