PowerID, an Israel-based producer of battery-assisted passive (BAP) RFID technology, has established new partnerships with two Asian manufacturers in response to growing global demand for BAP EPCglobal Class 1, Generation 2 labels.
With the introduction of the company's EPCglobal C1G2-compatible labels, PowerID reports experiencing high demand from system integrators around the world.
As a result, the company has stepped up its efforts to build manufacturing partnerships in Asia to enable higher volume production of its tags.
PowerID's products combine the performance and reliability of a BAP label with support for standards-based Gen 2 RFID readers, and the labels operate in the UHF range (850-960MHz).
BAP labels are designed to track challenging materials, such as liquids, metal, and paper, that can otherwise negatively affect the reliability of traditional RFID technologies.
