ITG & Soliton partner on RFID-based security system
Tuesday December 11, 2007

Assa Abloy Identification Technologies (ITG) has partnered with Soliton Systems K.K. in Japan, an IT security solutions provider to produce a combined technology solution that includes the Omnikey 5321 contactless smart card reader and SmartOn for enterprise IT Security management. The software allows end-users to use contactless technology for applications including log-on to Windows computers, networks, web sites, and software applications, as well as secure storage of user names, passwords, and other personal information. The Omnikey 5321 reads and writes any 13.56MHz ISO14443 A/B, ISO 15693 and ISO 7816 compliant contact or contactless card, including mifare and DESFire, Infineon, ATMEL, SHARP, as well as HID iCLASS. The new reader-and-software combination provides a solution for those who are currently using contactless smart cards for building access, as corporate or student ID cards, or for transit and cashless vending applications, but who also want to expand the card to include IT network security.
